Knowing how to get Trash Cubes in Raft is going to become pretty important at one point or another. The Cubes are used as a trading item, for which you can get some really valuable stuff. The issue is that Trash Cubes require a special machine that makes them, and worse still, the thing is very resource-hungry. So, let’s find out how to make Trash Cubes and what you can use them for.
How to Get Trash Cubes in Raft
In order to get Trash Cubes in Raft, you have to go through several previous steps. First off, you need to build a Receiver (research the Smelter to speed things up). Following the signal on the Receiver will take you to the Radio Tower, which is one of the first major landmarks in the game. At the very highest room of the tower, you’ll find a whiteboard with a blueprint on it. Collect said blueprint, and you’ll get the recipe for the Recycler added to your Research Table. In order to craft the Recycler, you’ll need six Plastic, four Metal Ingots, one Circuit Board, and either two Hinges or two Bolts. It might seem like you need both the Hinges and the Bolts, but you don’t; two of one or the other will do fine.
The next step to get Trash Cubes in Raft is to basically shove anything that’s not a food item into it until it spits out a Trash Cube. The amount of items you’ll need depend on what you’re using; if its Planks or Scrap, you’ll need thirty, but if you’re using, say, Metal Ingots, you’ll “only” need four. Basically, any trash that’s not edible and you’re not using for anything else goes into the Recycler. AS for what Trash Cubes are for, you trade them at Trading Posts that sometimes appear on large islands. These sell fancy bait, special items, basic necessities, and much more.
